What’s funny is that last weekend, some friends and I went to the Justin Timberlake concert in Charlotte. I said that it would be awesome if I pulled out my bassoon (ala Ron Burgandy and his jazz flute) and started playing up on stage. My friends just shook their heads since they know me so well. It probably would have sounded something like this, but cooler and sexier since JT makes everybody look cooler and sexier.
Know what’s a cool thing about music? What you hear is what you get. It’s sincere. You know what you’re getting. Unlike words, music doesn’t have an ulterior motive. And when it’s performed by a group of people who are invested in its success and want to do it justice, it’s pretty much the most powerful thing you’ll ever experience. I have no doubt that music is an integral part of Heaven.
